Safeguarding Policy

TechKids AI is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people who take part in our programmes. We work within Keeping Children Safe in Education and the Working Together to Safeguard Children statutory guidance.

Every educator holds an enhanced DBS certificate, completes safeguarding training at Level 2 or above, and provides two professional references before working with children. Certificates are shared with your school before delivery.

Children work only in supervised, filtered environments with tools appropriate to their age. We never ask children to create accounts on third-party AI services, and no personal data is entered into prompts.

Outputs are reviewed by an educator before being shared with the group. Where a tool produces something inappropriate, we treat it as a teaching moment and log it.

Every programme includes explicit teaching on deepfakes, scams, privacy, digital footprints and how to report harm. Secondary learners also cover image-based abuse and consent at an age-appropriate level.

Any concern arising during delivery is reported to the setting's Designated Safeguarding Lead immediately and always the same day. Our own Designated Safeguarding Lead can be reached at hello@techkidsai.org.

If a child is at immediate risk of harm we contact the local authority children's services or the police without delay.

Photographs are only taken where the school or parent has given written permission, are stored securely, and are never published with identifying details. Permission can be withdrawn at any time and we will remove the image.

This policy is reviewed annually and after any significant incident. The current version was reviewed in August 2026.
